Excited Girls...

On Saturday my girls and I cleaned the house and decorated for Christmas. They were quite excited to "festivify" the house and were quite proud of their work.

Daily I continue to remind the girls that God gave us the greatest gift at Christmas, JESUS. They get it.

What a blessing to serve God here in Belize.

How to dry damp clothes?

A few days ago one of my girls had clothes on the line overnight that she wanted to wear that day. She went outside and took the two items off the clothesline and asked me, "Can I put my clothes in the microwave to make them all dry?"

I laughed and smiled at the idea. She couldn't understand why it wouldn't work. I told her that it probably would work, but it would be better if she just put them somewhere in the house where they would dry.

Oh the funnies you experience as a Mom! :O)

Oh the Joy of Christmas Pictures...

I don't know about you and your family, but it's ALMOST IMPOSSIBLE to get a really good family picture on the first try. My girls? HUH...crazy to have all of us looking at the camera at the same time! :O)

I'm eager to see what they will look like for this Christmas...but no doubt it will be an ordeal as we have them taken.

Take care & blessings.

"When you get married, who will be in charge?"

My oldest girl asked me this question the other day. I responded with:"when I'm married, my husband (your Daddy) will be in charge." The girls were perplexed since they knew that this is my house. I continued to explain to them that the Bible says that the husband is head of the house which means that he is in charge of the family. Then I gave an example that if I said yes and my husband said no, then we would talk about it. If we still disagree then he will have the final say. We would respect each other and his answer would be the final one. That is the house that God blesses all the more.

This concept is so foreign to my girls, but something that I want to teach them and show them in the coming days, weeks, years.

Catch those teachable moments with your kids or the kids God has put you in charge of for a time.

Beginnings of Jehovah Rapha Girls Home

On November 1, 2007 Jehovah Rapha Girls Home was incorporated.

God has taken this home and developed it for His honor and glory. So far 7 girls have come through this home (with 4 still remaining).

What a ride it has been and I am so thankful that I obeyed what God was telling me in and through it all.

Every day is a surrendering to God this Girls Home, giving every girl to God and asking Him for wisdom to raise them in a way that pleases Him. No, it's not easy to be both Mom & Dad, but God does give strength.

I'm excited to see where God takes us next on this adventure...

It's only because of YOU God.

Felt Like an Ant

Hurricane Richard began with rain Sunday afternoon/evening and then pounded the Belmopan area from about 8pm til midnight (give or take). It was during that time that I felt like an ant and was at the mercy of the hurricane. There was nothing that I could do as I watched the trees sway under the strong winds and the rain pour all around.

During the hurricane, I watched in slow motion as our mango tree (that you could just about fit your arms around) fell on our neighbors house (see picture). Thankfully they stayed elsewhere, but it did significant damage to the peak of the house and has exposed one of the rooms to the elements.

Thankfully we had some people from church with a chainsaw cut it all up so that our neighbors can begin the process of rebuilding what was damaged.

There were no deaths reported from the hurricane & we praise God for that!

Thank YOU God for protecting us!
